Brag too much and you’ll sound like a horse trader, brag too little and your spouse
will want to trade you. But brag when it’s honorable and true and your spouse will trade
their horse for you.
Now that’s saying a whole lot to want to trade your horse for your spouse. Ever heard the story
of the man who paid ten cows for his bride?
It goes something like this…….A man approaches a young lady’s father and offers 10 cows for
her hand in marriage.
The father quite surprised at the hefty amount for his daughter, questions the man. Are you
sure you want to pay ten cows for her? She is clearly worth only one. You could save your
cattle, no need to pay so much. But the young man is insistent. He won’t lower the price for
such a hottie!
With great honor and pride, the young man takes his young bride off to the honeymoon. A
honeymoon that was obviously more then a week because after some time the newlyweds
returned to their hometown.
The towns people saw the couple approaching and recognized the young man with a beautiful
woman. What is this, they thought? Vegas is a busy place, he must have gotten a bigger better
deal because this clearly isn’t the same lady ( I might have ad-libbed a little).
But as the newlyweds got a little closer, they said to themselves, oh good gosh! ……that was
quite a spa because babies got it goin’ on!
O.K….O.K…it didn’t happen exactly like that, but the point was, ten cows cost a lot of money!!! …
And that young groom saw a beautiful bride. A valued and honored possession, he saw
something that no one else saw.
Bragging on your spouse makes them feel like you are in their corner. It makes them feel worth
your words, your respect, and your honor.
You want a women worth ten cows? Brag on her. Want a man that’s not a bunch of
bull?………Brag on him.
Fellers: You can brag on her in front of others. It’s ok you know to admit things like..”My wife’s a
better bowler than I am.” Or, “My wife catches bigger fish than I do.” I’m not saying that’s the
case around this place…well ok I’ll brag on her. Yes, she does bowl better than I do and she
does catch bigger fish than I do. However, I have strategically not taken pictures to ensure there
is no evidence.
Brag on her men it will do you good and more importantly boost her confidence!
