Lately on the ranch, we’ve been goin’ nuts!!! Oh, I meant to say….the nuts have been going. We got a few new horses, they were way past due to becoming geldings. Let’s get real……there can only be a few good studs around here! The vet arrived and the camera started rollin’…….
The bay was first. He gets a shot, he’s not going to feel a thing in a few minutes. I didn’t have a good shot of what happened inbetween, but you will see more with the sorrel horse.
See….it’s not so bad.
Next, the sorrel’s turn.
A little unsure, but this is all the fuss we get out of him.
Feeling a little sleepy
Think I will take a little break
Wendel holds up a leg, Jake hold a towel over the eyes
Prepping
A snip
And….the coolest part of all…..I had never seen a drill used before. What a neat trick, thanks Aaron!!!!
And now, removal of wolf teeth
All done, good work!!!
And there you have it! Here’s to the ranch vet, along with a couple good men…..who make it all look so easy. These guys keep ranching alive and well. I am simple amazed, modern medicine has come so far. I can’t believe how smoothly things went, I thought I was going to see it get a little western. You can always tell when people know what they are doing……most of the time it goes off without a hitch.
I just love ranching and I can’t wait to see what these two horses will become! Next stop……..the round pen!
